RML were commissioned to carry out a Site Investigation for Vodafone at a site in Quedgeley, Gloucester.

Fieldwork

Fieldwork was undertaken in line with British Standards BS 5930:2015+A1:2020. 2 No. Light Percussion Boreholes, 2 No. Concrete Cores, 2 No. Drive-in-Sampler Boreholes, MEXE Probe CBR Tests, and Land-Borne Gas and Water monitoring were undertaken as part of the investigation.

Ground Conditions

According to information published by British Geological Survey (BGS) the underlying geology is shown as being the Lower Lias of the Lower Jurassic Period. Superficial River Severn Terrace Gravels lie close to the east of the site.

Laboratory Testing

Natural Moisture Contents, Atterberg Limits, Quick Undrained Triaxial Compression Tests, Particle Size Distribution, pH and sulphates, Chemical Analysis- soil, Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) and Asbestos identification were the Laboratory tests undertaken for the project.

Portsmouth Road, Kingston

January 2024

RML were commissioned to carry out a Site investigation for a demolition of existing buildings and construction of a two-storey building, including basement level, providing two office units and six residential units, together with the associated access, car parking and landscaping.

Lower Radley, Abingdon

RML were commissioned to carry out a Site Investigation, together with laboratory testing, in order to provide information to assist rising main design and inform of any potential soil contamination.

Fieldwork was undertaken in line with British Standards BS 5930:2015+A1:2020. 2 No. Rotary Core Boreholes, 4 No. Drive-in-sampler boreholes and Land-Borne Gas and Water monitoring were undertaken as part of the investigation.

Ground Conditions

According to information published by British Geological Survey (BGS) the underlying geology along the route varies from north to south, with superficial outcrops of Summertown-Radley Sand and Gravel Member in the northern portion and Northmoor Sand and Gravel Member in the southern portion of the route. Bedrock deposits vary from Kingston Formation (Sandstone) in the northern portion, to Standford Formation (Limestone) in the middle portion and then Ampthill and Kimmeridge Clay Formation in the southern portion of the route. Possible superficial deposits of Alluvium encroach into the eastern portion of the route.

RML were commissioned to carry out a Site investigation for a demolition of some existing buildings and construction of a single-storey four classroom building, two-storey science block and single-storey school café building and associated landscaping.

RML were commissioned to carry out a Site investigation for a extension of the existing Bus Station welfare facilities in Stratford.

RML were commissioned to carry out a Site Investigation to provide information on the existing road make-up and underlying sub-soil conditions at this site to assist the Consulting Engineers to establish the load carrying capacity of the ramped concrete entrance road.

Superficial deposits were sporadic across the route and if found to be present would comprise of either Head Deposits or Glacial Till.
