Station Road Rising Main, Little Marlow

RML were commissioned to carry out a Site investigation for a proposed rising main between Marlow Rugby Union Football Club and the Thames Water Little Marlow Treatment Works.

Fieldwork

Fieldwork was undertaken in line with British Standards BS 5930:2015+A1:2020. 9 No. Light Percussion Boreholes and Land-Borne Gas & Groundwater Monitoring were undertaken as part of the investigation.

Ground Conditions

According to information published by British Geological Survey (BGS) the underlying geology at the site is shown as being recent Alluvium and/or recent Shepperton Gravel (River Thames Terrace Deposits) overlying Upper Chalk of the Cretaceous Period.

Laboratory Testing

Natural Moisture Contents, Atterberg Limits, Particle Size Distribution, Quick Undrained Triaxial Compression Tests, Chemical Analysis for soil & water, Hazardous Waste Classification Tests, Waste Acceptance Criteria Tests (WAC), Asbestos Identifications and pH and Sulphate Tests were the Laboratory tests undertaken for the project.
