RML were commissioned to carry out a Site investigation for a new foul water rising main crossing beneath the River Thames.
Fieldwork was undertaken in line with British Standards BS 5930:2015+A1:2020. 2 No. Cable Percussion Boreholes, 3 No. Light Percussion Boreholes and Groundwater Monitoring were undertaken as part of the investigation.
According to information published by British Geological Survey (BGS) the underlying geology at the site site is shown as being Recent Kempton Park Gravel (River Thames Terrace Deposits) overlying London Clay of the Eocene Period. The southern side of the River Thames at Windsor Marina is shown to have Recent Alluvium overlying the Kempton Park Gravel.
Natural Moisture Contents, Particle Size Distribution, Quick Undrained Triaxial Compression Tests, Chemical Analysis, Waste Classification Tests, Asbestos Identifications and pH and Sulphate Tests were the Laboratory tests undertaken for the project.
