RML were commissioned to carry out a Site investigation for a demolition of existing structures and construction of ground plus 7 storey building comprising hotel (Class C1) and ground floor commercial uses (Class E) with associated landscaping, cycle parking and plant.

Fieldwork

Fieldwork was undertaken in line with British Standards BS 5930:2015+A1:2020. On-Site UXO Report, 3 No. Sonic Coring Boreholes, 5 No. Hand Excavated Trial Pits, Land-Borne Gas & Groundwater Monitoring and Photoionization Detector (PID) Monitoring were undertaken as part of the investigation.

Ground Conditions

According to information published by British Geological Survey (BGS) the underlying geology at the site site is shown as being Recent Alluvium overlying Taplow Gravel (River Thames Terrace Deposits) overlying the Lambeth Group of the Palaeocene Period.

Laboratory Testing

Natural Moisture Contents, Particle Size Distribution, Quick Undrained Triaxial Compression Tests, Chemical Analysis for soil & water, Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) Tests, Asbestos Identifications and pH and Sulphate Tests were the Laboratory tests undertaken for the project.
