RML were commissioned to carry out a Site investigation for to provide further information on the sub-soil conditions at points along the a proposed water main route, together with laboratory testing, in order to provide information to assist foundation design, potential contamination and the choice of pipe materials.
Fieldwork was undertaken in line with British Standards BS 5930:2015+A1:2020. 6 No. Light Percussion Boreholes, 1 No. Drive-In-Sampler Borehole and Land-borne Gas Monitoring were undertaken as part of the investigation.
According to information published by British Geological Survey (BGS) the underlying geology at the site is shown as being recent Alluvium and/or recent Storm Gravel Beach Deposits overlying the Ashdown Beds of the Cretaceous Period.
Natural Moisture Contents, Atterberg Limits, Quick Undrained Triaxial Tests, Particle Size Distribution, Chemical Analysis, Waste Classification Tests, Asbestos Identification and pH and Sulphate Tests were the Laboratory tests undertaken for the project.
