RML were commissioned to carry out a borehole investigation to assist in the design of a piled foundation.
Fieldwork was undertaken in line with British Standards BS 5930:2015+A1:2020. 2 No. Sonic Coring Boreholes were drilled at the site to depth of 30m.
According to information published by British Geological Survey (BGS) the underlying geology at the site is Recent Brickearth overlying Upper and Middle Chalk of the Cretaceous Period.
Laboratory Testing
Natural Moisture Contents, Atterberg Limits, Particle Size Distribution, Quick Undrained Triaxial Compression Tests, Chalk Density and pH and Sulphate Tests were the Laboratory tests undertaken for the project.
